PARANÁ PORTS DISPATCH 3.28 MILLION TONS OF SUGAR IN THE 1ST HALF OF THE YEAR

The Ports of Paraná handled a record 33.78 million tons in the first half of this year, a 9% increase from the same period last year. This surge contributed to half of Brazil’s soybean export growth. June alone saw a record 6.58 million tons handled. Imports grew by 16%, with 12.52 million tons received, including 4.78 million tons of fertilizers. Key import origins were Russia, China, Canada, Morocco, and the USA. Soybean exports rose by 10% to 8.06 million tons, while sugar exports surged by 73% in bulk and 96% in bags, totaling 3.28 million tons. Container handling also grew by 37%, reaching 780,457 TEUs.
