Brazil’s oil production rose 13.7% in April compared to the same month in 2024, reaching 3.632 million barrels per day, driven by expansion in pre-salt fields, according to the ANP. Petrobras led with 2.24 million bpd, up 10.5% year-on-year, aided by a new platform in the Búzios field. Shell, the second-largest producer, increased output by 15.7% to 385,360 bpd. Natural gas production reached 168.01 million m³/d, up 1.5% from March and 22.9% from last year, though only 33% was delivered to the market. Total oil and gas production hit 4.689 million boe/d, with a record 3.734 million boe/d from the pre-salt, an 18.3% annual rise.
