OFF-SEASON CORN HARVEST IN CENTER-SOUTH HITS 28% DESPITE SETBACKS

According to AgRural, the 2025 corn off-season harvest reached 28% of the cultivated area in Brazil’s Center-South on July 3, up from 18% the previous week but lower than the 63% recorded in the same period in 2024. A recent drop in rainfall has slightly sped up harvesting, though challenges persist. Cold nights and dew in Mato Grosso, along with high grain moisture in other regions, continue to slow progress. Nevertheless, yields have been outstanding, and crop losses in weather-impacted areas of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul have been lower than initially expected.
