NORTHERN PLATEAU OF SC PREDICTS RECORD SOYBEAN HARVEST IN 2024/25

The 2024/2025 soybean harvest in Santa Catarina’s Northern Plateau is expected to yield 806 thousand tons from over 165 thousand hectares, with an average productivity of 81 sacks per hectare. The data comes from the Giro da Safra survey, conducted by Sicoob Central SC/RS and Epagri, which evaluated 50 farms in the region. Mafra leads production, followed by Canoinhas. The project showed a 2.6% increase in planted area, a 9.7% rise in productivity, and a 12.6% increase in production compared to the previous year. The survey highlights the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to support agribusiness, offering valuable insights for improving harvest monitoring. Over the past 12 years, soybean production in Santa Catarina has grown by 93%, driven by the grain’s rising value in global markets.
