‘NEW’ PULP TERMINAL AT THE PORT OF SANTOS SET TO IMPACT 2 BILLION PEOPLE

With a BRL 443 million investment, Suzano Papel e Celulose opened the Santos T32 Port Terminal extension. The annual pulp export capacity of the corporation will increase by 43% to 6.6 million tons. A warehouse extension and the installation of two gantry cranes, each costing BRL 70 million, were part of the work. These cranes can replace forklifts and unload 48 tons in seconds. João Alberto Abreu, CEO of Suzano, emphasized the support from the Ministry of Ports and Airports. Suzano’s new plant’s output is transported by train over a one-thousand-kilometer journey from Mato Grosso do Sul to Santos-SP. The project created 580 direct employment opportunities and enhanced operational control.
