NEW EXPANSION PLANNED FOR PORT OF ITAPOÁ WITH BRL 500 MILLION INVESTMENT

Over the following 12 months, Porto Itapoá invested BRL 500 million to begin Phase IV of expansion. Upgrades to the yard and dock, together with the acquisition of modern machinery including container and hybrid cranes, will allow for the berthing of up to three large ships. Additionally, new chilled container connectors and a cutting-edge scanner will be installed. By 2033, the port could be the biggest in South America. Furthermore, the dredging of the Babitonga Bay waterway, which Ibama authorized, also facilitated the entrance of large ships.
