The Government of Mato Grosso do Sul signed a R$7.6 million agreement with Aprosoja/MS to certify rural properties in soybean and corn chains with a focus on sustainability, traceability, and carbon monitoring. Funded by Fundems, the initiative runs until September 2027 and promotes RTRS certification, diagnostics of properties, carbon stock tracking, technical training, and sustainability education. It will start in Costa Rica and Chapadão do Sul and targets demanding markets like Europe and Asia. The project includes audits, performance evaluations, and public reporting to ensure transparency and help make the state carbon-neutral by 2030.
