Brazil’s oil production hit a record high of 4.03 million barrels per day in October, a 23.2% year-over-year increase. This was largely driven by the pre-salt layer, which also set a new record of 3.309 million bpd. Petrobras led the growth, producing 2.51 million bpd (up 27% from 2024) following the start-up of new platforms, such as Almirante Tamandaré, FPSO Marechal Duque de Caxias and Maria Quitéria. Natural gas output also rose to 194.78 million m³/day. However, most of this gas (108.34 million m³/day) was reinjected, with only 63.05 million m³/day reaching the market.
