With a rise of 4.4% over the same period the previous year, Minas Gerais’s 2024–2025 sugarcane crop totaled 73.8 million tons, 92% of SIAMIG’s forecast. Crushing is complete in three mills, one fewer than in the last harvest. Ethanol output increased by 8% to 3.07 million m³, while sugar production increased by 5.5% to 5.1 million tons. Anhydrous ethanol decreased by 8% to 1.1 million m³, whereas hydrous ethanol increased by 15% to 1.9 million m³. Similar to the previous harvest, 51% of the production mix was still made up of sugar.
