MINAS GERAIS AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS REACH US$12,8 BILLION

From January to August 2025, Minas Gerais’ agribusiness exports totaled US$12.8 billion, up 13.5% from the previous year, keeping the state as Brazil’s third-largest exporter with 12% of national revenue. Despite an 8.7% drop in shipped volume (11.6 million tons), higher prices and market diversification boosted results. Coffee led exports with US$6.88 billion, up 52%, representing over half of revenue and consolidating Minas Gerais’ 70% share of Brazil’s coffee exports. The soybean complex earned US$2.4 billion, with declines in value and volume, while sugar and alcohol exports totaled US$1.2 billion, down 18.3%. Forest products contributed US$653 million with 1 million tons shipped. China, the U.S., and Germany were the main destinations, with growth in emerging markets like the Philippines, Mexico, and Chile.
