MATO GROSSO ACHIEVES 99.91% OF THE PLANTED AREA; COTTON HARVEST AT 34.7%

The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) announced that the 2023-24 winter corn harvest was nearly complete, with 99.91% of the planted area harvested as of last Friday (2). This figure reflects a 3.83% increase over the previous harvest period, as well as 2.4% above the five-year average. Brazil’s southeast is the only area that has yet to complete the harvest, accounting for 99.48% of the planted area. The cotton harvest of the same crop reached 34.7% of the planted area, representing a weekly increase of 10.97%, but it remains below the average of the previous five years.
