A long-standing demand to remove a submerged rock at the Port of São Francisco do Sul is finally being addressed, with plans to increase the draft at the site. Clearing the obstruction will enhance the efficiency and safety of docking operations, increasing the draft at the extraction point. Upon signing, the contract will be valid for 12 months. The rock is located between berths 101 and 102, at a depth of 10.5 meters. The removal aims to deepen the area’s depth to 14 meters, matching the port’s draft. The best way to move forward with deepening the external access channel to the Port of São Francisco do Sul is currently being analyzed. One possibility is to grant a concession to the private sector.
