LINE-UP INDICATES EXPORTS OF 3.3 MILLION TONS OF SUGAR

According to Williams Brazil, 3.34 million tons of sugar were scheduled for export in the week ending July 23, with 76 ships in port. Santos Port has the highest cargo volume (2.44 million tons), followed by Paranaguá and São Sebastião. The majority of the cargo is of the VHP type, reaching more than 3.2 million tons. Despite a 1.8% rise in volume shipped over the 14 working days of July, daily revenue declined 7.4% to USD 70 million, owing to a 9.1% drop in the average price per ton (USD 460 in 2024 to USD 418.10 in 2025). The retraction reflects the large worldwide supply and fluctuating international prices, which reduce the profitability of Brazil’s sugar and energy sectors.
