According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Inmet, the La Niña phenomenon, which causes cooling in the Equatorial Pacific, is waning and is expected to transition to a neutral phase in the coming months. The phenomenon began in December 2024 with low intensity, marked by temperatures below -0.5°C. However, since February, there has been a gradual warming of ocean temperatures, particularly in South America. Meteorological forecasts indicate that ocean temperatures are likely to return to normal by June 2025, with a 60% chance of neutrality between March and May, increasing to 70% between April and June.
