ITAÚ BBA PREDICTS HISTORIC SOYBEAN EXPORTS FROM BRAZIL IN 2025 ALONG WITH INCREASING FREIGHT COSTS

Brazil’s record crop and soybean exports, with a concentrated harvest in Mato Grosso, are likely to increase transportation costs by 2025, according to Itaú BVA’s Agro Consulting. Severe rain might exacerbate logistical issues in February, when almost all of the soybeans from Mato Grosso, Brazil’s top producer, will be ready for harvest. With a national harvest of over 170 million tons, Brazil expects to export 105 million tons of soybeans abroad. Although sugar’s global sales are dropping, corn harvests and exports are expected to recover.
