In a week, soybean harvest almost doubles in Paraná

In the previous week, the state had removed 22% of the 5.4 million hectares. Campo Mourão leads among the fastest and Jacarezinho among the slowest. The soybean harvest in Paraná now reaches 42% of the area of 5.46 million hectares, according to a survey by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral). The amount represents almost double the amount collected in the previous week, when it was 22%. Only the municipality of União da Vitória did not start work. At the same time last year, the harvest reached a total of 51% of the crops sown. The rest of the areas are divided between the stages of maturation (62%), fruiting (34%), flowering (3%) and vegetative growth (1%). According to Deral, 94% of soybean crops in the state have good conditions for development, 6% are in an average situation and 1% have a bad condition. The production of the soybean harvest in 2019/2020 may reach 20.361 million tons, against 16.805 million tons of the previous harvest, with an increase of 21%. Average productivity was estimated at 3,819 kilos per hectare, up from 2,968 kilos recorded in the last harvest. Of the 20 regional centers monitored by Deral, 19 started harvesting work. The most advanced is Campo Mourão, with 77% of the 685 thousand hectares harvested. then Toledo appears with 76% of the 483 thousand hectares harvested and Cascavel with 71% of the 364 thousand hectares. Among the least harvested are: Jacarezinho (5%) and Cornélio Procópio, Guarapuava, Irati, Londrina, all with 12% of the harvested areas.
