HYDROUS ETHANOL PRODUCTION GROWS 25.91% IN THE CURRENT HARVEST

Sugar production in Brazil’s Center-South region reached 3.12 million tons in the second half of June, up 20.48% over the previous harvest. The cumulative yield from the beginning of the harvest until June 16 was 10.95 million tons, a 14.42% increase over the previous season. Luciano Rodrigues from UNICA attributes this growth to a 13.25% increase in crushing. Ethanol output also increased, reaching 2.25 billion liters in the first half of June. Hydrous ethanol climbed by 29.56%, whereas anhydrous ethanol rose by 4.85%.
