The Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor), in collaboration with Dnit, plans to invest BRL 4.8 billion in the canal sector via the New PAC, emphasizing projects such as landslides, dredging, and waterway maintenance. Initiatives include the collapse of the Pedral do Lourenço, the recuperation of streams such Tapajós, São Francisco, and Madeira, and the upholding of the Newton Navarro Bridge in Rio Grande do Norte. The government intends to grant five canal concessions, beginning with the Paraguay River. Plans also include building and recovering Small Public Port Facilities (IP4), mostly in the Amazon and Amapá states in Brazil’s north.
