HISTORIC DREDGING CONCESSION NOTICE SET FOR JULY RELEASE

Brazil is set to launch its first-ever dredging concession by July 15, which covers the access canal to Paranaguá and Antonina (PR). The auction will take place between August and September, with the winning bidder securing a 25-year contract, a pioneering model in Latin America. The BRL 1.2 billion investment will fund signaling systems, traffic control upgrades, and deepening the channel draft from 13.5m to 15.5m to accommodate larger vessels. The bidding rules mandate that 15% of consortium members must be dredging specialists. The Ministry of Ports adopted TCU risk-sharing and tariff discount proposals. This round includes port terminals in Pará (PA), Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and Alagoas (AL), collectively valued at over BRL 1 billion.
