Hidrovias do Brasil (HBSA) will operate Brazil’s largest convoy, consisting of 35 barges with a transport capacity of up to 70,000 tonnes, each 346 meters long and 75 meters wide. The convoy will navigate the Tapajós, Amazonas, and Pará rivers in Brazil’s northern arc region, departing from Itaituba to Barcarena. With a 40% increase in transport capacity over the company’s current convoys of 25 barges, it will be possible to transport more cargo in a single trip, ensuring efficiency gains, a 10% reduction in fuel per tonne handled, and a consequent reduction in carbon emissions per shipment. The company operates in the logistics corridors in the North of the country and the Paraguay-Paraná waterway, as well as in the Port of Santos.
