As autumn arrives in May, southwestern Paraná experiences cooler temperatures, with early morning cold snaps. Despite this, the agricultural outlook is positive, with good crop development and strong expectations for the harvest if weather conditions remain stable. The region’s second corn harvest stands out, with crops averaging 150 bags per hectare, offering good profitability due to favorable prices. Bean crops, although sensitive to cold, are nearing harvest, with yields ranging from 35 to 45 bags per hectare. Regular rains have helped maintain soil moisture, benefiting crop growth. The cooperative advises farmers to avoid leaving soil uncovered during winter to prevent erosion and preserve fertility. For those not planting winter crops, vegetation cover is recommended, and the cooperative offers support in accessing soil protection solutions, emphasizing the importance of soil care for future productivity.
