HARVEST OF THE 2024 CORN HARVEST ACCELERATES AND REACHES 10% IN THE CENTER-SOUTH, SAYS AGRURAL

As of June 6, 2024, the corn harvest in Brazil’s Center-South region reached 10.4% of the cultivated area, up from 4.7% the previous week and 2.2% the same period last year, according to AgRural. This rapid pace, the fastest since AgRural began weekly surveys in 2013, is attributed to early planting, a shorter plant cycle, and dry weather. Mato Grosso and Paraná lead the harvest, with Mato Grosso showing excellent productivity due to favorable conditions. Paraná, however, faces losses from hot and dry spells. Yields in Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais are low, but Goiás reports satisfactory results.
