GROWTH IN PLANTED AREA BOOSTS 2024-25 SOYBEAN OUTPUT TO 171.4 MILLION TONS

StoneX boosted its 2024-25 soybean output forecast to 171.4 million tons in its first review of 2025, a 3.1% increase over the December forecast. This growth was caused by increased productivity and reviews. The national planted area rose to 47.1 million hectares, a 2% increase over 2023–24, drawing attention to reviews in North/Northeast and Midwest states. Because of the soybean cycle’s rapid growth, Brazil’s average productivity was 3.64 tons per hectare. Along with the forecast rise in soybean output in 2024-25, the supply and demand balance also resulted in adjustments for next year’s soybean exports, estimated to reach 107 million tons.
