Green Diesel was launched as a great promise and opportunity for ethanol on Thursday (18), at Fenasucro & Agrocana. This is a new renewable fuel technology developed by two Brazilian companies, Duo Automation and Quadra, which transforms hydrous ethanol into an alternative for diesel without modifying the engines. The great advantage of Green Diesel is the reduction of particulate pollution. “The pollution generated by heavy transport in city centers is substantial. Green Diesel can be a solution to this problem, as it eliminates particulate emissions”, said Marcos Daniel de Lima from DUO Automation. The chemical composition of Green Diesel is 96.8% bioethanol and 3.2% additives, allowing the vehicle to be ignited by compression and providing the same lubrification as fossil diesel oil.
