According to the IBGE, Bahia’s grain production is predicted to reach 12.2 million tons in 2025, up 7.3% from 2024 and setting a new state record. The crop projection increased by 0.6% between January and February, driven by the corn first crop, which is now expected to reach 1.59 million tons, 5.8% higher than initially estimated. This expansion is attributed to a 5.8% rise in planted area, which increased to 290 thousand hectares. On a nationwide basis, the Brazilian crop is predicted to reach 323.8 million tons, up 10.6% from 2024.
