GOVERNMENT POSTPONES LAUNCH OF THE 2024/25 HARVEST PLAN TO JULY 3

Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture Paulo Teixeira confirmed the 2024/25 Harvest Plan launch is postponed to July 3rd. Initially set for June 25th, and then June 26th, the plan includes both family and corporate farming, with the family farming launch at 10 am and the corporate plan in the afternoon. Teixeira cited the need for more preparation time. The decision followed a meeting with President Lula and other officials. Despite official claims of logistical needs, sources say the delay is due to budget issues. President Lula aims to allocate R$630 billion for the plan, with R$550 billion for corporate agriculture and R$80 billion for family farming, but budget constraints are causing delays.
