GOVERNMENT APPROVES PROOF OF THE PORTS OF CDP EME BELEM, SANTAREM AND VILA DO CONDE

The Investment Partnership Program (CPPI) Council, linked to the federal government, approved resolutions to qualify Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) and Companhia Docas do Pará (CDP) for privatization. The resolutions, adopted last week on day 20, also determined that the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the denationalization measures of the two state-owned companies. It will be up to the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) to monitor the technical studies contracted by BNDES and approve the concession contract for the port service. In the case of CDRJ, the services provided in the ports of Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói and Angra dos Reis will be absorbed by the private operator.
