Between January and May 2025, the agricultural sector in Goiás recorded strong growth in formal employment, with 46,759 new hires—a 6.4% increase over 2024. Agriculture and livestock accounted for 88.3% of these jobs (41,304), making Goiás the national leader in proportional formal job growth. The state saw a 3.5% increase in total active jobs, surpassing regional and national averages. This growth is credited to public policies supporting rural development, including expanded technical assistance, rural credit access, and production support programs. Initiatives like Social Credit training, rural financing, genetic improvement programs, and small agribusiness support have boosted job creation, especially in remote areas.
