According to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply of Goias and the IBGE, Goias has become Brazil’s fourth largest grain producer, with 31.4 million tons forecast to be harvested in 2023-2024, accounting for 10.6% of total production. Goias is behind Mato Grosso, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. Rice stood out with a growth of 17.7%, and planted area is expected to rise by 23.2%, bringing the harvest to 110.8 thousand tons and ranking Goias as Brazil’s eighth largest rice producer. These achievements were obtained despite the climate problems of 2023 and 2024.
