GASOLINE AND ETHANOL END 2024 ON A HIGH WITH NA INCREASE IN DECEMBER

At the end of December, the average price of a liter of gasoline was R$6.29 at gas stations in the country, registering an increase of 0.48% compared to the end of November. Ethanol closed the last month of 2024 at R$4.27, after an increase of 1.18% in its average price, compared to the month of November. “The increase in the average price of gasoline and ethanol in Brazil at the end of the year may be the result of a series of economic and infrastructural factors. Among the main ones are logistics costs, which vary according to the distances traveled and the structural conditions of each region, in addition to the recent rise in the dollar, which has been directly impacting the fuel market. Furthermore, at this time of year, there is also a greater demand for transportation, a factor that contributes to higher prices at gas stations,” says Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brazil.
