FUEL OF THE FUTURE: BRAZIL WILL REDUCE 705 MILLION TONS OF CO2 BY 2037

Brazil’s Fuel of the Future program achieved historic milestones in 2024, positioning the country as a global leader in sustainable energy. With investments expected to exceed R$260 billion by 2037, the program aims to decarbonize transportation and prevent 705 million tons of CO2 emissions. Sanctioned by President Lula in October, the law promotes biofuel use, including a record 45 billion liters of ethanol and biodiesel produced in 2023. Partnerships with India and Chile, alongside a R$6 billion fund for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), reinforce Brazil’s regional leadership. Workshops and public discussions focus on expanding biofuel blends (E35, B25) and legal certainty for innovation. The program solidifies Brazil’s commitment to climate change mitigation and the global energy transition.
