FOOD SECTOR GIANT TO MAKE BILLION-DOLLAR INVESTMENT IN THE PORT OF SANTOS

Cofco International is rapidly advancing the construction of its new terminal at the Port of Santos, with operations set to begin in 2025 and full capacity by 2026. Securing the STS11 lease in 2022, Cofco plans to handle 14.3 million tonnes of solid vegetable bulk annually. The initial investment of R$764.8 million has been increased to R$1.5 billion. Phase one involves extensive demolition and development work, expanding the terminal area from 62,000 to 98,000 square meters. The project includes new berths, silos, warehouses, railway infrastructure, and creating 480 jobs. Cofco’s investment aligns with Brazil’s export growth, enhancing terminal capacity and modernization, and supporting logistics with a new railway yard.
