The Port of Paranaguá is entering the final stretch of its Moegão project, now 82.14% complete, with testing scheduled to begin in March. Backed by a BRL 658 million investment from Portos do Paraná, the new structure is set to transform rail logistics at the port, enabling it to receive up to 24 million tons of grain per year. Daily capacity will increase from 550 to 900 railcars, handling as much as 68,000 tons per day and delivering a 63% boost in operational efficiency. The project is expected to lift the rail modal share from 15% to 50%, while cutting logistics costs by 30% and CO₂ emissions by 73%. Moegão also positions the port for the future Ferroeste railway and is part of a broader infrastructure investment package.
