FEDERAL PROGRAM AIMS TO SIMPLIFY PROCESSING IN THE PORT SECTOR

The Ministry of Ports and Airports intends to launch the “Navegue Simples” program by December. The initiative aims to simplify the processing of various port-related authorizations. Currently, these procedures can take between two to three years. With “Navegue Simples,” the expectation is that the processing time will be reduced to 6 to 8 months. The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, discussed this program during a meeting at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) last week. The program will be carried out in collaboration with the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) to streamline the sector and expedite new authorizations for private-use terminals (TUPs).
