FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALLOCATES R$147 MILLION FOR FINAL PHASE OF SUAPE PORT RENOVATION

Brazilian President and Minister of Ports and Airports endorsed the transfer of renovation responsibilities for the Port of Suape, Recife, during an event in Pernambuco. The Federal Government allocated R$147 million to complete the final stage of jetty restoration and dredging the port’s channel. This investment aims to enhance vessel safety, increase cargo throughput, and stimulate economic growth in Pernambuco. Minister Costa emphasized the project’s role in job creation and income expansion. President Lula highlighted similar nationwide investments and anticipated economic benefits. The port’s strategic enhancements include deepening the channel to accommodate larger vessels, positioning Suape as a pivotal hub for containerized cargo. The complex, hosting 83 companies and generating 20,000 jobs, plays a crucial role in regional economic development.
