EXPORTS TOTAL USD 255.4 BILLION BY SEPTEMBER

With exports of USD 28.789 billion and imports of USD 23.426 billion, Brazil’s trade balance surplus in September amounted to USD 5.363 billion. Exports in 2024 were USD 255.456 billion (+0.8%), while imports were USD 196.338 billion (+8%), with a positive balance of USD 59.119 billion and a trade flow of USD 451.794 billion (+3.8%). Compared to the same month in 2023, exports climbed 0.3% in September, and imports, 19.9%. Agriculture dropped 8.4% in the cumulative index for the year; the mining and quarrying sector rose 10.6%; the manufacturing industry grew 1.5%. Projected exports of USD 335.7 billion (-1.2%) and imports of USD 264.3 billion (+10.2%) cause the MDIC to estimate a USD 70 billion surplus for 2024, 28.9% smaller than the record in 2023.
