EuroChem Group AG, a leading global fertilizer producer, announces that it has completed the purchase of a controlling 51.48% share in Brazilian distributor Fertilizantes Heringer SA, further strengthening the Group’s production and distribution capacity in Brazil, one of the most important crop nutrient markets in the world. With 14 blending, storage and distribution units in the Southeast, Midwest, South and Northeast regions, Fertilizantes Heringer significantly contributes to Brazilian agriculture, being the fourth largest distributor in the country in terms of installed capacity, with more than 4 million tons (MMT) per year. According to Lieven Cooreman, Head of EuroChem’s Commercial Division in South America and CEO of EuroChem Fertilizantes Tocantins, “the conclusion of this agreement reinforces the Group’s commitment and investment in Brazilian agribusiness, allowing the company to better serve its customers and provide its complete line of fertilizers from north to south. The expansion of EuroChem’s area of operation increases the efficiency of its logistics, reducing costs for customers and contributing to the company’s growth”.
