The free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur will enter provisional force on May 1, 2026, according to the European Commission. Key trade provisions will initially apply to countries that completed ratification by the end of March, including Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, while Paraguay is expected to follow soon. Despite ongoing controversy in Europe, the deal marks a significant step toward strengthening bilateral trade flows and economic integration between the two blocs.
