ETHANOL STOCKS IN THE CENTER-SOUTH EXCEED 7 BILLION LITERS AT THE END OF JULY

Ethanol stocks in Brazil’s Center-South region rose slightly, reaching 7.01 billion liters by the end of July, a 0.7% annual increase and a 16.9% rise from mid-July. In São Paulo, the largest biofuel producer and consumer, stocks hit 3.8 billion liters on August 1st, up 11.9% from 2023 and 15.6% biweekly. Hydrated ethanol stocks totaled 4.08 billion liters, down 6.9% annually, despite a 17.7% weekly increase. Anhydrous ethanol, used in gasoline, saw a 13.6% annual stock increase, with 2.93 billion liters stored. Despite higher stocks, production of anhydrous ethanol dropped 3.7% compared to last year. Experts suggest that while stocks are currently high, ethanol production may decline later in the season.
