EMBRAPA AND PARANÁ ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIP TO INVEST IN THE SOYBEAN SUPPLY CHAIN.

Embrapa and the Government of Paraná signed a letter of intent with R$5 million in projected investment to boost value addition in the soybean supply chain. Announced during the Summer Field Day at Embrapa Soja, the initiative focuses on four areas: developing soybean cultivars with improved protein and oil profiles, enhancing amino acid composition to increase feed efficiency in meat production, advancing biofuel-focused varieties, and expanding industrial uses of soybean oil such as lubricants, asphalt, and vulcanized materials. The partnership aims to strengthen innovation, bioeconomy development, and energy transition while reducing Brazil’s reliance on raw soybean exports. Researchers emphasize that expanding domestic industrial applications—from animal nutrition to cosmetics and footwear—could enhance competitiveness and position Paraná as a hub for soybean-based bioeconomy solutions.
