DUBAI MISSION SECURES BRL 1.6 BILLIONS FOR PORT OF SANTOS, EXPANDS GLOBAL NETWORK

A delegation from the Ministry of Ports and Airports, led by Minister Silvio Costa Filho, concluded a mission to Dubai that secured BRL 1.6 billion in investments from DP World for the Port of Santos. The funds will modernize and expand the port with a new pier and updated equipment, boosting its capacity to 2.1 million TEUs by 2028.The mission also progressed on expanding international air routes, including a potential new Emirates flight to Brazil’s Northeast to bolster tourism. The delegation engaged in a technological exchange at the Port of Jebel Ali and held discussions on sustainable aviation fuels, eVTOL cooperation, and decarbonization. Additionally, logistical and airspace security was addressed in a meeting with the president of Interpol.
