DECEMBER SUGARCANE PRODUCTIVITY SURGES 26.6% IN BRAZIL’S CENTER-SOUTH

In December, sugarcane productivity in Brazil’s Center-South region averaged 73.4 tons per hectare, a significant 26.6% year-over-year increase from 58 t/ha in December 2024. Data from the CTC (Sugarcane Technology Center) Bulletin also showed improved crop quality: the ATR (Total Recoverable Sugar) rose 12.9% to 117.9 kg per ton. However, for the full 2025-26 harvest cycle (April–December), the region has seen a 4.6% decline in average productivity to 74.7 t/ha, down from 78.3 t/ha in the same period last cycle. The cumulative ATR also dipped slightly by 0.9% to 135.9 kg/t.
