CORN OFF-SEASON EXPECTED TO HIT 101.5 MILLION TONS IN 2024-25

StoneX expects the second 2024-25 corn crop to yield 101.5 million tons, an 8.4% increase over the previous harvest, due to the 0.8% planted area increase and productivity rebound after the 2023-24 drought. However, the firm warns that weather-related changes may occur during the off-season, which typically begins before the May/June drought. With regional changes, the first 2024-25 corn crop should yield 24.9 million tons. Rio Grande do Sul production fell 1.5% due to a drop in the planted area. Despite the expected increase in consumption and exports, total corn production might reach 128.5 million tons in 2024-25, with ending inventories of 19.5 million.
