CORN ETHANOL PRODUCTION REGISTERS GROWTH OF 22.83%

In the first half of May, 48.27% of sugarcane was destined for sugar production, totaling 2.57 million tons, like the 2023-24 crop. As of May 15, 2024, output was 5.13 million tons, up 1.05 million tons from the previous cycle, owing mostly to the increased volume of processed sugarcane. Ethanol output in the Center-South totaled 1.99 billion liters (+2.14%), including 1.25 billion liters of hydrous ethanol (+12.40%) and 743.02 million liters of anhydrous ethanol (-11.47%). Corn accounted for almost 15% of overall ethanol production, totaling 298.56 million liters, a 10.76% increase. Corn ethanol production totaled 868.05 million liters (+22.83%).
