COPERSUCAR AND RAÍZEN TO EXPORT 26.3% OF BRAZILIAN SUGAR IN 2024

Brazil set a sugar export record in 2024, shipping 31.28 million tons and generating $18.61 billion — the highest figures since records began in 1989, according to Secex. Exports via ship holds rose 20.3%, reaching 34.03 million tons, the third consecutive annual increase. The second half of the year accounted for 55.6% of shipments, though the first half saw a sharper rise of 50.4%. Copersucar led exports for the fourth straight year, handling 4.53 million tons (+62.9%), followed by Raízen with 4.4 million tons (+68.1%) — the first time two companies surpassed 4 million tons.
