CONAB: GRAIN OUTPUT PROJECTION FOR 2025-26 HARVEST REACHES 353.8 MILLION TONS

Brazil’s 2025-26 grain harvest is forecast to achieve a record 353.8 million tons, representing a 1% increase over the prior cycle, as per estimates from Conab and Banco do Brasil. This growth is fueled by an enlargement of the planted area to 84.24 million hectares, which offsets an anticipated 2% decline in average yields. Soybeans remain the primary driver, with a projected output of 177.6 million tons (+3.6%), solidifying the country’s position as the world’s leading producer. Corn production is predicted to drop 1% to 138.3 million tons, showing a stabilization of yields after the stellar 2024-25 season. Production of cotton lint is expected to rise 0.7% to 4.09 million tons. Rice output is expected to dip 4.8% to 11.5 million tons due to reduced planting area and productivity, but it will still fulfill domestic demand.
