COFCO SEES POTENTIAL RISE IN BRAZIL’S GRAIN HARVESTS IN 2024/25 WHILE INCREASING CAPACITY

Cofco International plans to increase Brazil’s soybean and corn harvest in 2024/25 as it prepares to open a new export terminal in Santos. The first phase of the terminal will start in early 2025, with full capacity reaching 14 million tons by 2026. This expansion aims to handle increased volumes of soybeans, corn, coffee, sugar, and cotton. Cofco is investing $285 million in the project, making the terminal one of the largest in Santos. The 2024/25 harvests are expected to be larger due to better yields. Despite a drop in 2023, soybean exports remain strong. Cofco also plans to meet new sustainability regulations, ensuring deforestation-free soybeans.
