COAMO WILL INVEST R$3 BILLION IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PORT IN SANTA CATARINA

Coamo, Brazil’s largest agricultural cooperative, announced a R$3 billion investment to build a new port in Itapoá, Santa Catarina, set to begin operations in 2030. The project will include three berths with capacity to handle 11 million tonnes annually, covering agricultural bulk, fuels, fertilizers, and LPG. With revenues of R$28.8 billion in 2024, Coamo already operates through the Port of Paranaguá, shipping nearly 5 million tonnes of grains like soy, corn, and wheat from its 32,000 members. According to president Airton Galinari, the new port responds to growing demand and aims to expand the cooperative’s export capacity.
