According to a survey by Esalq-USP’s Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), the volume of hydrated ethanol traded by plants in São Paulo grew 15% between June 10 and 14 compared to the previous period. This increase drove prices up. The Cepea/Esalq Indicator for hydrous ethanol closed at R$2.3378 per liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins), a 1.37% rise from the previous week. For anhydrous ethanol, the increase was 0.65%, with the Cepea/Esalq Indicator at R$2.6340 per liter (net of PIS/Cofins). Cepea researchers note that mill agents remain firm on trading values, closely watching international sugar prices.
