CENTER-SOUTH CORN PLANTING FOR 2024-25 HITS 15%, REPORTS AGRURAL SOURCES

According to AgRural, as of Thursday, 15% of the projected area in Brazil’s Center-South had been planted with the first 2024–25 corn harvest. In Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná, farmers used the wetness in their soil to their advantage, but in Santa Catarina, the dry weather made work difficult. In the case of soybeans, low humidity and high temperatures have prevented planting from beginning even with the conclusion of the sanitary vacuum in parts of Mato Grosso and Paraná. The beginning of planting operations will depend greatly on the rain forecast.
